Do you want to be refreshed in the LORD? Do you want relief from the pain and burden that comes with this sojourn here on earth? In the world around us, many want to be set free from the difficulties of life but cannot find any reprieve. Countless believers desire to be refreshed in the Lord too, but they are continuously feeling parched and weary when it is time to act! Why? They do not come to the fountain of Living Water for strength and refreshment.
The Psalmist wrote, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” Psalms 1:1-3. This is where we get our strength, refreshing, and longevity. They are God’s gifts that come to each of us as we make God’s Word our delight. Isaiah penned as he was moved by the Spirit of God, “So shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I send it.” Isaiah 55:11.
God’s Word not only brings peace, comfort, strength and joy, it is also at work in the heart and mind of the one that makes it his delight. Keep reading saints! Let the Words of God come off the pages. They will do a work within our lives and church that will produce fruit unto God for His Glory!
