If you’ve ever thought, “I wish I could have gone on that mission trip!”, well, you did! We all do! “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:14-15.
When outreach happens, from a barbecue to an international missions trip, we all play our part, from prayers to finances. Paul wrote to the Corinthian church, “For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.” 1 Cor 12:12. When we go as the Lord has commanded us, we all go. Paul, “the missionary”, also wrote, “Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one? I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers…” 1 Cor 3:5-9a.
As we see, it’s not about what part we have, but that we do our part. What God has done through His church is best said by Paul, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Eph 3:20-21.
All the stories we have to tell of our Great and Awesome God and the many miraculous things He has done in and through ministry both local and International, we do together, as a family.
