Romans 8:5-17

Every day, two main voices compete for our attention. One draws us toward the desires of the flesh, while the other leads us toward the things of the Spirit. What we focus on shapes the direction of our lives.
In Romans 8:1–17, Paul reminds us that those who are in Christ are no longer condemned or enslaved. We are forgiven, free, led by the Spirit, and adopted into God’s family. This is our new Identity.
But like an old television that can show only one channel at a time, our minds cannot be set on the flesh and the Spirit simultaneously. One channel leads to death; the other leads to life and peace. What channel are you watching—and is it time to change it?
