Romans 3:21-31

For three chapters, Paul has left us nowhere to hide. Every excuse stripped away, every moral ladder kicked out from under us, every attempt at self-righteousness exposed. Whether pagan, moralist, or religious insider, we are left with a relentless conclusion: all stand guilty before God.
And just when the weight feels unbearable, when hope seems out of reach, Paul introduces two of the most powerful words in all of Scripture: “But now…” (Romans 3:21a)
These words are not a minor transition. They mark a cosmic turning point. What human effort could never achieve, God has now revealed. What the law could expose but never correct, God has now accomplished.
This passage is the heartbeat of the gospel. It answers the deepest question every human soul must face: How can a guilty person stand righteous before a holy God? The answer is both humbling and liberating.
Humbling: because it completely dismantles our confidence in ourselves.
Liberating: because it places our hope entirely in Jesus Christ.
Here, we discover that righteousness is not earned; it is revealed. Not achieved, but received. Not based on what we do, but on what Christ has done. That changes everything.
