Over the years I have heard many believers and non-believers alike say, “When I get to heaven there are a few questions I have for God.” Now I must confess that in my early walk with Christ I also thought the same way. But can anyone bring an accusation against Almighty God? It is true, we all want answers! Why? Because we are saddened when seemingly innocent people die at the hands of a tornado or an earthquake. We are angry when the disingenuous prosper and the helpless starve. We question when a child suddenly dies. The human desire to understand the world around us is just that, human and natural. Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 2:14, “But the natural man does not receive the things of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
We need to consider that God can and will do what He pleases. “Whatever the LORD pleases He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deep places.” Psalms 135:6. It is not for us to try and figure out or make excuses for God, for the Scriptures declare, “He does great things past finding out, yes wonders without number.” Job 9:10. It is for us to simply trust and humbly serve our Great God and King.
One day we will all have that audience with the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS Rev 19:16. The one thing I know we will be saying is, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” Rev 5:12. We will not be questioning God in His majesty but worshiping Him in ultimate piety.
