When we forsake our wretched past and cling to Christ, the fog of sin starts to dissolve from our eyes as we walk longer with and draw closer to the Son of God. We discover that true and Spirit-led worship of our Great God and King can be as simple as, “Thank You for rescuing me from the fire of eternal judgment.” It is the cry from the regenerate heart indwelling and empowered by the Spirit of the Living God.
The worship of God should also be glorifying to His Nature, Name, and Holiness. In all that we do in our worship services, singing songs of praise and adoration, studying the Word of God, and giving of our tithes and offering, our highest aim and yearning is that we give to God the glory that’s due Him for all He has done for us. The apostle Paul wrote, “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Cor 6:20.
Whether we find ourselves in a small group Bible study, Sunday morning service, midweek Bible study, or a special time of worship and prayer as a church, may we all seek to glorify God.
