When you pray, do you believe that God hears you? Do you believe He answers? Psalm 34:17-18 says, “The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.” God Answers Prayer.
For example, in Isaiah 38:4–5, he tells Hezekiah, “Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years.” God heard, and God answered Hezekiah.
God answered the prayers of many in the Bible and is still answering the prayers of His people today. We may not feel like Moses, Danial, or Elijah, but God hears us the same way He listened to and responded to them.
James writes, “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.” (James 5:17-18)
I am personally fond of Ps 50:15, “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” There is an aspect of personal worship of answered prayer that we often miss in our busy world today. God is answering: are we listening with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength?
