Psalm 96:7-13. As we have been considering what worship should look like in the house of God, as we take a small break from our study in Acts, we have found some wonderful applications. Knowing there is much to learn from the whole of the scriptures about the worship of God, Psalm 96 should have some wonderful applications for us today. We have found that the church should sing “a new song unto the Lord.” This means that healthy worship should not be dry and mundane. It should be a fresh, new experience because we are looking to the God of Glory beyond our human understanding. God is great and greatly to be praised!

We also have found that our worship is missional as we declare the glory of God before the faces of the lost humanity. Praise and worship of Him should be with our full strength as we declare His character of loving-kindness, truth, and judgment (Exodus 34:6-7). We should live in such a way that when the lost who hear us, would consider the reality of God. We must also come prepared to praise, worship, and love the Lord with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. When we enter His presence, we should enter with reverence, exception, and excitement as we feed upon His Word, awaiting His soon return. Praise him with healthy worship!
